Happy New Year

wir alle stricken unser Leben
jeden Tag ein Stück weiter.
Die einen Stricken liebevoll uns sorgsam,
die andern stricken mühvoll und ungern.
Manche wählen die komplizierten Muster,
andere ein ganz schlichtes.
Oft ist es ein bunter Maschenwerk,
oder ein Stück in tristen Farben.
Nicht immer können wir die Farben wählen,
und auch die Qualität der Wolle wechselt,
mal weich und mal flauschig,
mal hart und kratzig.
Und öfter lässt man mal eine Masche fallen,
oder sie fallen ohne Zutun.
Und zurück blieben Löcher und ein unvollständiges Muster,
manchmal reisst der Faden,
und es hilft nur ein dicker Knoten.
Wenn wir unser Leben betrachten
wissen wir genau, welche Stellen es sind.
Du hast die Nadel in der Hand,
du kannst das Muster wechseln,
die Technik oder das Werkzeug.

Es wird für uns Menschen ein ewiges Geheimnis bleiben,
wie viele Lebensfaden uns noch zu verstricken bleibt.

a little further every day.
Who lovingly and carefully
the others knit laboriously and reluctantly.
Some choose the intricate patterns
others a very simple one.
Often it is a colorful meshwork,
or a piece in dreary colors.
We can't always choose the colors
and the quality of the wool also changes,
sometimes soft and sometimes fluffy,
sometimes hard and scratchy.
And more often you drop a scam
or they fall without doing anything.
And what remained behind were holes and an incomplete pattern
sometimes the thread breaks
and only a thick knot helps.
When we look at our life
we know exactly which places it is.
You have the needle in your hand
you can change the pattern
the technique or the tool.

It will remain an eternal secret for us humans
how many threads of life we still have to entangle.
