LN-DYT at Cotswold Airport (3) - 20 August 2021

Cotswold Airport (Kemble) is sad last resting place for many aircraft and the starting point of a new life for a few. It is a magnet for enthusiasts and photographers, especially those who 'like' to record the last days of an airframe or a change of identity. It is also a home, if sometimes only temporarily, to airframes which would be seen in the UK only rarely or not at all. The scene at Kemble changes steadily and a series from my latest visit illustrates all of the foregoing.

During my visit, Norwegian B737-800 LN-DYT was towed from the north side to the south (here) where it joined the long line of Airbus aircraft.

Norwegian Encore at Southampton - 18 October 2020

The latest pandemic wanderer to berth at Southampton's City Cruise Terminal was Norwegian Encore which is jaw-droppingly tall. I felt an extra pang of anguish to see such a large ship without all the buzz of a passenger-filled departure around her. Goodness only knows what will remain of the cruise industry after we have finished being bounced around by the virus and the ever-changing reactions to it.

On berth 104 is the NYK vehicles carrier Volans Leader.

Norwegian B787-8 LN-LNA at Prestwick for, I believe, engine replacement/upgrade.

A long shot across the airport and pretty unsharp but, I think, a necessary record shot from a place I visit only infrequently.
