A look back to the Fallen Moon ,in Bridgwater Docks
i stood behind a lady taking a shot on her phone and it felt like an opportunity for some unusual foreground interest!

The Fallen Moon is a creation by artist Luke Jerram,
Created from NASA data, the sculpture is a giant 10m diameter replica of the Moon, presented on water. The artwork is 350,000 times smaller than the real Moon with each centimetre of the internally lit sculpture describing 3.5 km of the Moon’s surface. The installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound composition created by BAFTA award winning composer Dan Jones.

The huge mountain of scrap at Cashmore's scrap yard on East Dock Road in Newport dwarfs British Railways 3MT 2-6-2 tank 82031 waiting its turn to die. Bundles of boiler tubes are neatly stacked but the cylinders & steam chests from unknown engines litter the pile behind. This was my only visit to Cashmores and all the steam had gone by year's end.

A twist in the tale is that, although all of this class of locomotive were scrapped, today a group of enthusiasts are actually building a replica of a Class 3MT tank from scratch. 82045 is progressing well - see www.82045.org.uk/news/82045_news-feb26.html

The start of the public footpath from Thurcaston to Rothley on a dry autumn day. When it rains the fields are waterlogged and the footpath disappears under mud and water. Wellies are essential footwear.

Wreathed in steam British Railways Standard 2 2-6-0 78018 waits in the platform at Leicester North while running round its train; the 19.30 diner.

For once I wasn't on the footplate, I was just a regular punter enjoying dinner on the train with my wife & took advantage of the stop to grab a shot of the engine.

A visit to the Kent & East Sussex Railway, my first since 1986! Hunslet Austerity 0-6-0ST (Works 2857 of 1943) as WD75008 Swiftsure stands at the head of its train at Tenterden station the northern terminus of the K&SER.

Just noticed that the left-hand bench has SER in wrought iron on the end. The South Eastern Railway ceased to exist with the Grouping in 1923!
