The Titan block-setting crane on the North Breakwater at Peterhead, which was constructed between 1912 and 1956. Following the experiences on the South Breakwater, this crane was built with equal height legs from the start. The builder was probably Stothert & Pitt of Bath, but the oval maker's plate is illegible.

The Titan block-setting crane on the South Breakwater at Peterhead sometime after 1891. Shortly after this stage was reached it was discovered that the shelters didn't work in severe storms and the breakwater design was modified. This entailed the crane builder, Stothert & Pitt of Bath, rebuilding the crane to run on legs of equal height.
This image has the crane build date as 1891 and 50tons at 100ft radius as the load limit.

Starting to test fit the replacement planks for the body.
Note : the body frame timbers extend below the floor level.
On the original vehicles, the outside framing extended over the depth of the underframe.

Repairs in progress to the lower edges of the window openings, and fitting the replacement bars, which were unit construction, to prevent removal.

The Hunslet "jazzer" locomotive "Duke of York" is heading up to the Quarry with three of the convict vans, and propelling a tipper waggon, conveying a single passenger (who were not allowed in the convict vans)

1950s image of the Titan crane on the North Breakwater, delivering blocks for the divers to deal with. The group of divers are in light coloured clothes. it looks like at least one block is already underwater, another is on the crane whilst the last waits on the waggon, there are three waggons in the short train, propelled by the loco "Prince of Wales".

The Convict Van and a ex-RNAD box van sit in the late afternoon sunshine, as the day of the Official Opening draws to a close.
The box van is the type used to move shells around RNAD establishments, and part of the Admiralty Yard at Peterhead was used to mount guns for defence during WW2, overlooking the South Pier.
