Plockton settlement is on the shores of Loch Carron. It faces east, away from the prevailing winds; this, together with the North Atlantic Drift, gives it a mild climate despite the far-north latitude, allowing the Cordyline australis cabbage tree to prosper.

The single story building on the shores of Loch Carron was originally the Old Post Office, It is now secured for the community who open the shop daily from 9 to 10am offering a range of newspapers for residents and visitors.

HWW and a large view perhaps!
