A long wait at Higher Poynton Railway Station

Higher Poynton station was on the railway line from Macclesfield to Marple. It operated from 1869 to 1970. Since 1985 it has been a picnic site. The whole length of the railway line has been converted for use as a footpath, cycle track and bridleway.
