Here a sizeable tributary crosses the road to join the west fork. The huge trash rake suggests seasonal torrents must come through here.

I'm bummed the river is inacessable. Even at this Mojave River Forks Regional Park there is a day use fee to even look around, but it's just a campground nowhere near either fork of the river. We continue on south on SR 173.

Also above the dam, two forks of the Mojave join. The east fork goes up mountain canyons. The west fork continues the wash environment so we follow it. The river forks are completely cut off by private property. Maybe the residents and ranchers won a battle to save their lands.
