Ein Spätherbst-Morgen am Main. Im Bild die alte Mainbrücke, links im Hintergrund die Steinburg (s. Notiz) und rechts das Heizkraftwerk (s. PiP). Im Hintergrund die berühmten Weinberge Würzburger Stein. Neben den drei Schornsteinen des Kraftwerks ist der neue Druck-Wärmespeicher zu sehen (s. PiP), in dem überschüssige Energie des Kraftwerks als rund 3000 Kubikmeter 130 Grad heißes Wasser mit einem Wärmeinhalt von 175.000 kWh (!) gespeichert wird. Also einer der Beiträge Würzburgs zur Energiewende.

A late autumn morning on the Main. The photo shows the old Main bridge, the Steinburg castle on the left (see note) and the combined heat and power plant on the right (see PiP). The famous Würzburger Stein vineyards in the background. Next to the three chimneys of the power station you can see the new pressurised heat storage tank (see PiP), in which surplus energy from the power station is stored as around 3000 cubic metres of 130 degree hot water with a heat content of 175 000 kWh (!). In other words, one of Würzburg's contributions to the energy transition.
