➽ Die Aktion "Augsburger Stadtsommer" 2026 läuft von Mai bis September und verwandelt die gesamte Stadt in einen riesigen Open-Air-Kulturraum.
Ein Teil davon ist diese 5 Meter breite und 2,20 Meter hohe Sandskulptur - mit Nachbildungen aus der Augsburger Skyline. Das aus etwa 25 Tonnen Sand geformte Kunstwerk wurde von der internationalen Künstlergruppe Sandcity erschaffen und kann bis 07. Juni bewundert werden.
Neben der großen Skulptur gibt es eine Sandspielfläche zum Burgenbauen, Liegestühle und verschiedene Mitmachaktionen. (PiPs)

➽ The Initiative "Augsburger Stadtsommer" (Augsburg City Summer) 2026 runs from May to September, transforming the entire city into a vast open-air cultural space.
Part of this event is this sand sculpture - a 5-meter-wide and 2.20-meter-high replica of parts of the Augsburg skyline. Crafted from approximately 25 tons of sand, this artwork was created by the international artist collective Sandcity and can be admired until June 7.
Alongside the large sculpture, there is a sandy play area for building sandcastles, as well as deckchairs and various interactive activities. (PiPs)

Dunnet Bay is one of the most stunning and remote beaches in Scotland, located in Caithness on the far northern coast of the Scottish Highlands. It's a beautiful, sweeping arc of pale golden-white sand stretching over 2 miles (about 3 km), backed by extensive rolling sand dunes and machair (coastal grassland). This makes it a true gem along the North Coast 500 route — often described as one of Scotland's finest beaches.

K’gari (bis 2023 Fraser Island, auch Great Sandy Island genannt) ist eine zum Verwaltungsgebiet Fraser Coast Region im australischen Bundesstaat Queensland gehörende Insel. Mit einer Fläche von 1840 Quadratkilometer ist sie die größte Sandinsel der Welt. Sie liegt etwa 190 Kilometer nördlich von Brisbane vor der Ostküste Australiens.
K’gari ist 124 Kilometer lang, durchschnittlich 15 Kilometer breit und umfasst 1840 Quadratkilometer (im Vergleich: Rügen ist etwa halb so groß). Im Südwesten liegt die 70 Kilometer lange Great Sandy Strait, eine Meeresenge, und im Nordwesten die Hervey-Bucht. Im Osten grenzt K’gari an den Südpazifik. Die höchste Düne der Insel ist der etwa 240 Meter hohe Mount Bowarrady. Die touristisch erschlossene Insel ist Teil des Naturschutzgebiets Great-Sandy-Nationalpark.
In der Sprache der Aborigines bedeutet K’gari „Paradies“ – diesen Namen erhielt die Insel im Jahr 2023 offiziell zurück. Sie gehört seit 1992 zum UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe

Ende September konnten wir bei sonnigem Wetter noch gut in der Strandbar des Surfers Paradise am Strand von Knokke-Heist in der belgischen Provinz Westflandern sitzen.

Das Surfers Paradise ist ein Surfclub mit Strandbar am östlichen Ende der Promenade von Knokke-Heist. Es handelt sich um das letzte Gebäude an der östlichen Nordseeküste Belgiens vor der Grenze zu den Niederlanden.

Unser Jack Russell Terrier Clifford hat es sich neben dem Tisch im Sand gemütlich gemacht.
