Serco Tug Duo - 9 September 2020

Six Serco tugs assisted the departure from Portsmouth of HMS Queen Elizabeth. Following the turning of the carrier towards the sea, Christina and Suzanne remained in the vicinity of the jetty whilst Tempest (at the bow), Bountiful and this pair astern, Indulgent and Independent, helped to negotiate the harbour exit.

The very attractive ART 8032 class Serco tug SD Tempest assisting at the bow of HMS Queen Elizabeth on her departure from Portsmouth. Tempest is the designated tug for the two Elizabeth class aircraft carriers.

The Type 45 Daring-class guided missile destroyer HMS Diamond (D34) leaving HMNB Portsmouth on deployment on Operation Kipion. Assisting at the bow is the ATD 2909-class Serco tug SD Bountiful. The ASD 2509-class tug SD Indulgent is astern (not visible) and the ensemble is accompanied by the MoD Police motor launch 'Loyalty'.

The ASD 2509-class tug SD Indulgent was astern. The pair are seen framing the offshore patrol vessel HMS Mersey (P283).
