Plockton is a village in the Lochalsh, Wester Ross area of the Scottish Highlands with a 2020 population of 468. Plockton settlement is on the shores of Loch Carron. It faces east, away from the prevailing winds; this, together with the North Atlantic Drift, gives it a mild climate despite the far-north latitude, allowing the Cordyline australis cabbage tree to prosper.

The single story building on the shores of Loch Carron was originally the Old Post Office, It is now secured for the community who open the shop daily from 9 to 10am offering a range of newspapers for residents and visitors.

The waters of the loch lap gently on the pebbly beach of Loch Cainaird at Ardmair, producing that soporific effect that comes from waves on pebbles.

The headland is Ardmair Point and to the left of the image is the A835 road which forms a part of the "North Coast 500",

A troubled sky and a view from the south shore of Loch Ness and it is from this very beach that Nessie has been filmed in the past few years, This is on the opposite side and slightly west of Urquhart castle a hot-spot where many of the1136 sightings have been, indeed from 2021 10 sightings have been reported on the Loch Ness webcam www.lochness.co.uk/livecam.html

Folk stare for hours and often think they may have seen what they possibly have not,
