A holiday week has begun in 3 of Austria's populous federal states (Lower Austria, Vorarlberg and Vienna). In Germany there is a holiday week in 4 federal states (Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt). There will be more next week.

In 3 bevölkerungsreichen Bundesländern Österreichs hat eine Ferienwoche begonnen (Niederösterreich, Vorarlberg und Wien). In Deutschland gibt es eine Ferienwoche in 4 Bundesländern (Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Sachsen-Anhalt). Nächste Woche werden es noch mehr.

This is what it looked like this morning on the Steinplatte in Waidring (Tyrol, Austria). The cold front, which brought a lot of fresh snow, has passed through. Clear, frosty weather dominates over the next few days.

So sah es heute Morgen auf der Steinplatte in Waidring (Tirol, Österreich) aus. Die Kaltfront, die viel Neuschnee gebracht hat, ist durchgezogen. In den nächsten Tagen dominiert klares, frostiges Wetter.

The ski season in the Alps is coming to an end. The fences that are used to direct skiers at the lift entrances when there are large crowds are no longer necessary.

Taken in the skiing area Steinplatte at Waidring (Tyrol, Austria), near the lift station of the highest peak (approx. 1,830 m altitude). The view goes over the layer of clouds to the west to the Kaisergebirge.

Captured last Friday while skiing on the Steinplatte in Waidring (Tyrol, Austria). After 10 days of continuous snowfall, the sun showed up again today for the first time. At -12 degrees Celsius and haze, however, hardly any skiers were on the move.

Aufgenommen vergangenen Freitag beim Skifahren auf der Steinplatte in Waidring (Tirol, Österreich). Nach 10 Tagen Dauerschneefall zeigte sich heute zum ersten Mal wieder die Sonne. Bei -12 Grad Celsius und Dunst waren aber kaum Skifahrer unterwegs.

The troll flower is endangered throughout Germany and has already disappeared in northwestern Germany; it is therefore a protected species. The reason for the decline is the drainage of extensively used fresh and wet meadows. The human being simply destroys everything in his boundless greed.

Die Trollblume ist deutschlandweit gefährdet und in Nordwestdeutschland bereits verschwunden; sie steht daher unter Naturschutz. Grund für den Rückgang ist die Trockenlegung extensiv genutzter Frisch- und Feuchtwiesen. Der Mensch macht einfach alles kaputt in seiner grenzenlosen Gier.
