Moine House is a ruined stone cottage in the remote Scottish Highlands of Sutherland, sitting on the vast blanket bog of A' Mhòine This area forms part of the Flow Country, one of Europe's largest peatlands.

The house was built in 1830 as a halfway refuge for travelers crossing the difficult moorland between Loch Eriboll/Loch Hope and the Kyle of Tongue. Before the road, traversing the bog was a major obstacle—impracticable for most except hardy locals, often taking a full day of toil. The first proper road across the 14-mile morass was constructed at the sole expense of the Marquess of Stafford (later Duke of Sutherland), with the house serving both as shelter for weary travelers caught in bad weather and as a modest family home. (Ben Loyal range as a backdrop)

he Kyle of Tongue Causeway is a 3.8 km (2.4 mile) long roadway that spans the shallow Kyle of Tongue sea loch on the north coast of Sutherland, in the Scottish Highlands. It forms a vital part of the A838 trunk road, connecting the villages of Tongue and Melness, and is a highlight on the North Coast 500 (NC500) scenic driving route.

Shot in 16.9 format therefore a large view would be appreciated,,,,,,, HWW!

A kind of sea wall as this supports the A838 road and the causeway across the Kyle of Tongue, A sea loch in Sutherland at the very top of Scotland! The water to the right is open to the Atlantic ocean tides and elements!

It is also a part of the North Coast 500 road around the top of the country!

The bridge is the access to the larger section of beach! and the gate hanging below the bridge is one of what was a pair to stop cattle walking down through the burn to freedom,

River Naver and Torrisdale Beach at Bettyhill, Sutherland.
The river is only 18 miles in length and flows from the peat and bog-lands due north to reach the sea at Torrisdale Bay on the wild north coast of Great Britain.

At the very top of Scotland a short distance off of the North Coast 500 road,

Ben Loyal is composed chiefly of granite, specifically syenite, and has a distinctive shape due to the four rocky peaks, the highest of which is called An Caisteal. To the north of An Caisteal is the 712 m Sgòr Chaonasaid, to the south is Bheinn Bheag (744 m), and to the west is the ridge of Sgòr a Chèirich, 644 m at its highest point. The fourth peak in the picture is the 568 m Sgòr Fionnaich.

The castle walls are generally 1.4 metres (5 ft) thick, or thicker, and have been built from roughly squared blocks of metamorphosed sandstone rock of varying thickness, laid in rough courses of random depth. The stones seem to have been laid without the use of mortar, and have suffered little from weathering, considering that the building may be 1000 years old, (wikipedia)

The area was a historic crossroads for Gaels, Picts and Vikings and the area is named after an Old Norse term which refers to a piece of land shaped like a spit or tongue.
The sea loch and surrounding countryside is designated as the Kyle of Tongue National Scenic Area,

Crossing the top of Scotland on the A838, which forms a part of the North Coast 500 route!

The North Coast 500 is a 516-mile (830 km) scenic route around the north coast of Scotland, starting and ending at Inverness Castle. The route is also known as the NC500 and was launched in 2015, linking many features in the north Highlands of Scotland in one touring route.

We often refer to the North Coast 500 road around the top of Scotland, this shows a small section of the A838, looking west towards Durness with the pointed Cranstackie peak which forms a part of the "Beinn Spionnaidh" mountain group and a corner of Loch Eribol,

Captured on a cloudy and slightly misty day from just above "Ard Neakie"

A large view may help with clarity!

At the very top of the UK mainland and another squall approaches across the loch, the wall has not fared well, time and the the Scottish weather have taken their toll, however the wild flowers will be pleased with a refresher.

This is Ard Neackie which is a small scenic peninsula on the east side of Loch Eriboll joined to the mainland by a narrow isthmus and has an interesting history of lime quarrying (from the outcropping Durness Limestone), From scotland-landscapes.com
