The opening of the Alcazaba tunnel in 1999 allowed the pedestrianization of Alcazabilla street in its entirety, leaving open areas that have been occupied by bar terraces in its section closest to the Plaza de María Guerrero . In the central part of the street there is the rear façade of the Picasso Museum that has a wooded garden next to the Judería de Málaga and a small square, called the Plaza de la Judería formed around the Mudejar tower , which serves as a union with the Calle Granada and where the construction of a synagogue is also planned. There is also a small garden called Jardines de Ibn Gabirol, which has a sculpture in homage to this Malacitan poet and philosopher from Andalusia

On the side closest to the side of the Alcazaba is the Albéniz cinema building, built in 1945 and combining historicist architecture with the Californian style of some movie theaters in the United States. Next to this building is the Interpretation Center and the Roman Theater of Malaga , discovered in 1951 and excavated between 1994 and 2010 after the demolition of the House of Culture, which occupied part of the space. In the central area of the road a small glass pyramid allows to observe the archaeological remains found in the subsoil, mainly garum pools; providing natural light to the reservoir at the same time.
