Adjacent to Toronto Fire & Marine Station 334, Waterfront, stands a sobering and beautifully crafted reminder of the perils faced on our behalf by firefighters. The first Toronto firefighter killed in the line of duty was William Thornton, on Friday, November 24th, 1848.
