I like it so much, I cook it again in May and that equals the same meal twice a year, spaced six months apart. Of course I had to give it a name, so in May it becomes "Turko de Mayo" instead of "Thanksgiving."

Since I don't mind eating leftovers, this food will last me about two weeks. When the mashed potatoes, green beans and other side dishes run out, I take the remaining turkey and make a big pot of turkey vegetable soup. I definitely get my money's worth out of this food.

It shows off the gravy boat I found downtown at a local antique store. I only paid $1 for it. I researced it and it turns out that it was made in Germany in the 1930s, and is worth some money. I think I saw it worth $40-$50. Not a bad investment, but I don't intend on selling it. I like it too much.

This was 2018's version. It's my own holiday and I created it because the traditional meal we have at Thanksgiving, in November, is my favorite meal of all. By creating a holiday in May, I get to have the same foods featured in a Thanksgiving dinner twice a year.

Turko de Mayo for me includes, of course, a golden brown turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans with smoked sausage, homemade rolls, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. It seems like an extravagant meal, but it will last me a week and a half, plus I'll put a gallon freezer bag or two full of the leftover turkey meat into the freezer to make something with later.
