Looking north from a dirt road above town, part of the "Castle Loop" bike trail. The main street across the middle of the picture is US 50/Lincoln Highway. Several years back there was a valiant effort by an entrepeneur to establish Austin as a mountain bike destination. It never quite caught on--just too remote, presumably--and the guy finally gave up and moved his bike shop to Elko, NV. But there is a legacy of lots of named trails.
