According to Douglas Keister this is an adoring sphinx gazing upon Jochebed holding her son Moses, These statues are outside the Van Ness-Parsons mausoleum in Green Wood cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.

According to Douglas Keister this maternal figure may be a representation of Pharaoh’s daughter finding Moses in the bulrushes, in Egypt. This is to one side of the Van Ness-Parsons mausoleum, Green Wood cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.
