I recall chasing this up & down the valley a few days before the official unveiling, not that it was easy to miss.
If I remember correctly, the colour was described "Stroudley's 'improved engine green'" [which sort of proves he was somewhat colour-blind] - this yellow ochre has been seen on the Bluebell Railway's "Stepney" and also on "Fenchurch".

In 2019 No.9 was in GWR livery and carried the number 1213, in 2024 she was in the VoR museum with that number.

The War department ordered two batches of these locomotives - in 1916 & 1918 - for service delivering supplies & munitions to the trenches in WW1. The access door is in the middle of the cab back plate. It is a very rare survivor, and comes from the collection of the late Peter Rampton.

The "Pairs" were two of the original 1873 4-wheel carriages mounted on steel underframes, running on bogies. F68 was formed from A9 and C13, as their underframe dates from 1909, it is likely that this was the first "pairing". It was withdrawn in the 1970s and then sold to the Phyllis Rampton Trust. After restoration, and being put onto 2ft gauge bogies it is now on display at Aberystwyth.
