Not the original, that was transported to Germany in 1940 and it burnt down in 1945. This is a similar carriage from the same time.

Guynemer (born 1894) was a fighter ace of the First World War. In 1917 he disappeared, the Germans claimed that their pilot Kurt Wissemann shot him. Guynemer has 53 victories.

The son of Dr. med. Karl Gustav Schwabe, Ludwig Schwabe, himself a doctor too, died on the island of North Keeling. He was the ship's doctor on the Emden, a German war ship which was attacked by the Australian light cruiser Sydney, during the Battle of Cocos. Ludwig lost his foot and had a hole in his back as a result of shrapnel. He managed to get to the island, but he died from lack of water. He was buried there, but his father made this monument and was later buried beside him.

De Cruyenaere was a Belgian who emigrated to Canada. He enlisted at age 16 and this picture was taken. He survived the war and he died, aged 80, in Winnipeg, Canada.
