Diese mächtige alte Weide fand ich in in der Nähe eines Fischweiher im Tal des Flüsschens Wern. Schätzungsweise drei bis vier Personen wären nötig, um mit ausgestreckten Armen den Baumstaum zu umfassen. Ein wahrer Baumgigant!

I found this mighty old willow near a fishing pond in the valley of the small river Wern. It would take about three to four people to embrace the tree trunk with outstretched arms. A real tree giant!

Diese einstmals stattliche Weide, die man sogar in Google Earth sehen konnte, hatte den letzten Sommer und Winter nur knapp überstanden, siehe www.flickr.com/photos/cammino/47264258192/in/dateposted/. Sie wurde deshalb von Fachleuten saniert und treibt wieder neu aus. Hoffen wir, dass die Baumbehandlung Erfolg hatte und dieser markante Baum gerettet worden ist. Das Foto enstand im Naturschutzgebiet Schlossbergsattel Markt Einersheim.

This once imposing willow, which could even be seen in Google Earth, had barely survived last summer and winter, see www.ipernity.com/doc/cammino/48253128. It was therefore maintained by experts, and fortunately it is sprouting again. Let's hope that the tree maintaining was successful and that this imposing tree was saved. The photo was taken in the nature reserve "Schlossbergsattel" nearby Markt Einersheim/Germany.

Diese prächtige alte Weide in einem Naturschutzgebiet bei Markt Einersheim auf einem Bergsattel des Steigerwalds, die man sogar in Google Earth erkennen kann, stirbt leider langsam ab. Erfreulicherweise treiben aus dem unteren Stammabschnitt neue Äste aus, die hoffentlich in einigen Jahren den alten toten Baum ersetzen werden.
This gorgeous old meadow in a nature reserve near Markt Einersheim on a mountain saddle of the Steigerwald, which can even be seen in Google Earth, is unfortunately slowly dying. Fortunately, new branches are sprouting from the lower part of the trunk, which will hopefully replace the old dead tree in a few years' time.

Im Naturschutzgebiet Schlossbergsattel bei Markt Einersheim (unterhalb der Burgruine Speckfeld) verlässt eine alte Weide die Lebenskraft. An der Basis entstand aber mittlerweile ein Neutrieb, eine Wiedergeburt ist also möglich. Die alte Weide ist so mächtig, dass man sie sogar in google earth sehr gut erkennen kann (siehe Ort).

In the nature reserve Schlossbergsattel near Markt Einersheim (underneath the ruins of the castle of Speckfeld) an old willow leaves the vitality. But in the meantime, a young growth has developed at the stem base, so rebirth is possible. The old willow is so big that you can see it even in google earth very well (see location).
