Construction of Wick Harbour began in 1803 and was completed by 1811. It soon became a bustling port and a major player in the Herring fishing industry,&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
 In a street just behind the camera lives the Old Pulteney Distillery which is an aging malt whisky production facility in Pulteneytown. The distillery has a visitor centre in Huddart Street, and produces the Old Pulteney Single Malt whisky! worth a visit if you have the time!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

The unusual name is Norse and loosely translates to "inlet of the stack"&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A very slight deviation from the main road and missed by many dashing past on the way to John O'Groats and the "North Coast 500 route!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Worth a look in large if the site will allow!&lt;br /&gt;

Wick is a town in the far north of Scotland and is home to the most northerly mainland distillery ( Old Paulteney) and a fine malt it is!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Moving on to Ducansby Head tomorrow.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

Wick is a town in the far north of Scotland and is home to the most northerly mainland distillery ( Old Paulteney) and a fine malt it is!&lt;br /&gt;

It was once the largest Herring salting station in Europe with up to 50 herring boats anchoring at this small harbour.&lt;br /&gt;

For my personal Post Box Tuesday, A King George VI (1936-1952) post box on the gate post of the Noss Head Lighthouse Station, the inscription on the box and below an image of the complex reads as follows.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This letter box is located here to save the Postie a half mile round trip from the main gate to our houses and offices each day, over a hundred miles saved a year,&lt;br /&gt;
The Postie will always be welcome up at the main house for a cup of tea,&lt;br /&gt;
This mailbox is for convenience when the Postie is very busy,&lt;/div&gt;</description>

Post Box in pip&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
For my personal Post Box Tuesday, A King George VI (1936-1952) post box on the gate post of the Noss Head Lighthouse Station, the inscription on the box and below an image of the complex reads as follows.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This letter box is located here to save the Postie a half mile round trip from the main gate to our houses and offices each day, over a hundred miles saved a year,&lt;br /&gt;
The Postie will always be welcome up at the main house for a cup of tea,&lt;br /&gt;
This mailbox is for convenience when the Postie is very busy,&lt;/div&gt;</media:text>
