Diese abgeblüten Blütenstände vom Wiesen-Bocksbart (Tragopogon pratensis) fand ich am Straßenrand. Da der Fruchtstand sehr viel größer ist als beim Löwenzahn, kann man beide Pflanzen eigentlich nicht verwechseln. Alle Teile des Wiesenbocksbarts sind essbar. In der Türkei ist er als Yemlik bekannt und wird gerne als Salat verzehrt.

I found these spent inflorescences of the meadow goat’s-beard (Tragopogon pratensis) by the roadside. As the fruit head is much larger than that of the dandelion, it is actually impossible to confuse the two plants. All parts of the meadow goat’s-beard are edible. In Turkey, it is known as ‘yemlik’ and is often eaten in salads.

Der Fruchtstand des Wiesen-Bocksbart (Tragopogon pratensis) mit seinen attraktiven Fallschirmfrüchtchen sieht besonders von der Nähe besehen sehr ästhetisch aus. Die Fallschirme an den Früchten garantieren eine weite Verbreitung bei windigem Wetter.
Interessant ist, dass Teile der Pflanze auch als Nahrungsmittel genutzt werden (siehe Wikipedia-Artikel).

The infructescence of the Meadow Goatsbeard (Tragopogon pratensis) with its attractive parachute fruits looks very aesthetic, especially when viewed from close up. The parachutes on the fruits guarantee a wide distribution in windy weather.
Interestingly, parts of the plant are also used as food (see Wikipedia article).

Sicher haben es die meisten bemerkt, dass diese sehr große Pusteblume keine Löwenzahn-Pusteblume ist, sondern eine vom Wiesen-Bocksbart (Tragopogon pratensis). Es macht aber Kindern einfach mehr Spaß diesen großen Fruchtstand "leer" zu blasen.
Die Aufnahme entstand im Sommer 2021.

Surely most have noticed that this giant blowball is not a dandelion blowball, but one of the Meadow Goat's Beard (Tragopogon pratensis). But it is just more fun for kids to "blow emty" this large fruiting stand.
