Berliner Dom - goldene Laterne

Der nach oben gerichtete Blick zeigt die prachtvolle Innenseite der fast 74 Meter hohen Hauptkuppel des Berliner Doms mit ihren prächtigen Mosaiken. In der Mitte der Kuppel befindet sich die goldene Laterne mit dem leuchtenden Fenster, das die Taube als Symbol des Heiligen Geistes zeigt.

Die Innenseite der Kuppel des Berliner Doms zieren prachtvolle goldene Mosaike, die nach Entwürfen des Malers Arthur von Ramberg gestaltet wurden. Die Mosaike in der Hauptkuppel zeigen Szenen aus den Seligpreisungen der Bergpredigt, wie die Inschrift "Selig sind die Barmherzigen" belegt. Die Kuppelkonstruktion, die von großen Tambourfenstern durchbrochen ist, sorgt für das helle, lichtdurchflutete Innere des Bauwerks, das 1905 fertiggestellt wurde.

A somber sky and mood for this image of Bornesketaig Church, which is a ruined church on the Trotternish Peninsula of the Isle of Skye, Scotland.
It sits in the Kilmuir area, visible from Kilmuir Cemetery. The ruins stand on a grassy slope above Camus Mor Bay, overlooking the sea—making it a handy navigational landmark for vessels in the past,
Built in 1810.
Still shown as intact on Ordnance Survey maps from 1903.
Recorded as a ruin by the 1961 map (it likely fell into disuse sometime in between, possibly around the 1920s when a new church opened nearby in Balgown).

The Crown Casino main roof is all glass good idea for the light but facing North the Sun comes in too strong. Not long after it was built the problem of the Summer sun became apparent, the answer was to put up some shade cloth sails To dull the sunlight a bit.

Built in 1723 by the architect Benjamin Holloway for the Duke of Chandos, it was then called Chandos Street and is a superb example of Georgian architecture. ➽ Das Goliathhaus in der Altstadt von Regensburg ist eine zinnengekrönte ehemalige Patrizierburg. Das frühgotische Gebäude mit gotischen Fensterarkaden war seit 1290 Stammsitz der Patrizierfamilie Thundorfer.
Das monumentale Wandgemälde, entstanden 1573 durch Melchior Bocksberger, stellt die Szene „David gegen Goliath“ dar. Goliath symbolisiert darin den hochmütigen Kaufmann, der gegen den redlichen Kaufmann (= David) verliert.

➽The Goliathhaus ( Goliath house) in the old town of Regensburg is a crenellated former patrician castle. The early Gothic building with gothic window arcades was since 1290 the ancestral seat of the patrician family Thundorfer.
The monumental mural, created in 1573 by Melchior Bocksberger, depicts the scene "David against Goliath". In it Goliath symbolizes the haughty merchant who loses against the honest merchant (= David).

The 115 m (with antenna 158 m) high tower located in the district Antonsviertel, in its direct vicinity are the Congress Hall and the Wittelsbacher Park.
the reinforced concrete building was planed by the Augsburg architects "Brockel and Smith". In 1972 it was opened as Europe's largest hotel building.
By the locals it's affectionately called Corncob tower.
