The DKW NZ 350 was produced by DKW from 1938 to 1943 in Zschopau, 346 ccm, 11 PS. The PiP shows the smaller model NZ 250, 247 ccm and 9 PS, built 1938. DKW means "DampfKraftWagen", later also "Des Knaben Wunsch" or "Das Kleine Wunder"! - scanned photos

So...finally. This is the last image of the stream about the 1986' journey through the USA. All images were scanned slides (Nikon Super Coolscan 5000), taken with a Minolta X700. I really thank you very much, all who travelled with me ;-) The album grew pretty big.

The white high building is "First Canadian Place", built 1973-1975, 71 floors, 355 m with antennas, 298 m roof. The glass building to the left ist "Sun Life Centre West and East".

Roy Thomson Hall is a concert hall in the city's entertainment district, it is home to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and opened in 1982, designed by Canadian architects Arthur Erickson and Mathers and Haldenby. The hall seats 2630 guests.

The glass skyscrapers to the left are "Sun Life Centre West and East", built in 1985, so it was brand new, when I took this photo. The old building to the right is "St. Andrews Church", built 1876 in Romanesque style.

The Toronto streetcar system is a network of ten streetcar routes in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). This special type, the "Presidents' Conference Committee Car", which you can see here in 1986, was used by the Toronto Transportation Commission and the Toronto Transit Commission back then. - scanned slide, Minolta X700

Just trying new software, Luminar AI and Topaz Sharpen AI, both as plugin for Photoshop, pretty exciting. This is an old scanned slide from a motorcycle journey over several Alpine passes, which I would have neglected otherwise. A series from this journey will follow later in this year. The bridge is "Ponte del Castellaz".

The "Wrigley Building" was built 1920-1922 and is about 100 years old now. It has 30 floors and is 134 m tall (clocktower). It was the tallest building in Chicago from 1922 to 1924. - Better click on Z

Chicago 1986, AON Center seen from John Hancock Center, built 1970-1973, 83 floors, 346 m - scanned slide, Minolta X700

Architect: Edward Durell Stone

The original marble cladding (here on this image) bowed under the temperature swings experienced in the Chicago climate. The cladding was 32mm thick Itallian Carrera Marble (similar to what Michaelangelo used), but 20 years after original construction it had severly deteriorated. The marble was replaced with 51mm thick Mt. Airy Granite at a cost of $80M between 1990 and 1992 (43000 individual 1.27m x 1.14m panels). The original construction cost in 1973 was a mere $120M.

Chicago is also the city of drawbridges over the Chicago river. Here you see the closed "Irv Kupcinet Bridge" and the open "Bataan-Correqidor Memorial Bridge" and "Dearborn Street Bridge". To the right the residential skyscrapers Marina City I and II as seen on the image before.

The Sears Tower ("Willis Tower" since 2009) was built 1970-1973 with 108 floors and is 463 m tall, 527 m with antennas. When completed as the "Sears Tower" in 1973 it surpassed One World Trade Center in New York City, completed earlier that year as the World’s Tallest Building (WTB). It stayed the WTB from 1973 to 1996, where the Petronas Towers in Malaysia surpassed it, although this was only possible because of the spires atop the buildings, counting by roof height the Willis Tower remained the tallest until 2003 when Taipei 101 in Taiwan was completed, 19 feet taller than the Willis Tower’s roof. - see PiP

"Elephant Butte" at the left border, then "Stagecoach", "East Mitten Butte" in the dead juniper tree's centre, and "Cly Butte" to the right. This is the so called "North Window" of Monument Valley.
