I'm sure the pie is delicious, but I doubt the authenticity of those apples and leaves. Some caterpillar is going to come along in a minute with high hopes and be very disappointed.

Other sections not blessed with cute little paintings: Chowders, Beverages, Vegetables, Hot and Cold Puddings, Custards, Freezer Ice Creams, Cakes and Cookies, Sour Cream Cakes, and Candies.

The illustration for Entrees and Main Dishes isn't posted, because it's nowhere near as good as these others.

Less work for me, at least. ;)

This chapter has nearly identical recipes for Pumpkin Pie and for Squash Pie. Even in the 1930s, every home cook worked diligently to trick kids into eating more vegetables. :D
