I spotted this little bee in my garden hiding behind a single blade of grass. I didn't have my macro lens on the camera and I didn't want to go back indoors and get it in case the bee flew off. I had to make do with my 40-150mm, therefore this is a huge crop and a bit noisy.

Now that autumn is here the flowers are all slowly dying. Pollen is becoming difficult to find, but there are still some bees out there working hard to find what is left.

A bee in flight and just about to land on a St John's Wort flower..........taken in my garden. Please view large if you have time. Thank you.

The PiP shows a bee already in the flower collecting pollen taken a couple of minutes later. Not sure if it's the same bee.......there were so many around I lost track of it.

This is what I would call an "if only" shot..................in this case, "if only" I had used a faster shutter speed..!!

Even shooting at 1/2000 sec wan't fast enough to freeze its wing movement...............the nearest wing is beating so fast you can't even see it!

Better viewed large if you want :-)
