One of two Royalty Class boats (Prince and Henry) built in 1931 by James Pollock Sons &amp; Co Ltd of Faversham, Kent. The original owner was Associated Canal Carriers Ltd and subsequently the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

Those on the main line have been removed over the years, but there were, until recently, plenty to be seen along the High Lane arm which is used by the North Cheshire Cruising Club as a base. Sadly the move to larger steel boats has rendered these relics redundant and most have now been removed.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

It was used as a floating Customs &amp; Excise office and VIP/royal landing stage. The vessel was first moored on the north bank of the Thames, 400 yards west of Tower Bridge. Decommissioned in 1980, the present owners moved it to a new mooring on the South Bank, 400 yards east of Tower Bridge, and undertook a restoration and interior re-fit to create a 4-bedroom floating house for short term holiday rentals.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

The River Class boats were a new design of narrowboat, designed to be cheap and simple to construct and to have 20% extra carrying capacity over more traditional boats. They were built of welded steel sections and used blue glass fibre hatch covers instead of cloth covers.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

This is now the sole survivor of the transom-stern boats commonly used on the Leeds &amp; Liverpool Canal. After it finished working on the coal trade in Lancashire the boat was saved for the Boat Museum at Ellesmere Port where it remains after a major rebuild in 2016. This view shows the transom stern as it was in 2003 in the livery of its original owners.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

This is definitely the eastern limit for the boat as it is around 13ft longer than the lock! It was a bit of fun to take the boat to the very furthest point it could get.&lt;/div&gt;</description>
