Bridge Over Locks on Canal du Midi, near Beziers (some construction)

Taken on our excursion on the Canal du Midi. We are entering the multiple lock "staircase" near Beziers. The overhead is a brick bridge. There is some construction going on in the left side of the image, hence the fence.

Taken during our boating trip on the Canal Du Midi. The excursion terminated in this city. The Canal joins up with the river that runs through Beziers, hence the railroad bridge.

This huge mass of concrete is the counterweight for the Mystic Bridge (Connecticut). See PiP.

Taken during our visit to Connecticut. The sunlight seemed to be at just the right angle.

This bridge was built in 1922. The big wheel pivots the bridge, but it needs the help of a very large counterweight (concrete).

Under the Golden Gate Bridge, as we sailed out. The wind was blowing very strongly. It was hard to hold the camera steady. End of a beautiful day in San Francisco.

I like the heat waves made by the exhaust of the ship's engines.

Under the Golden Gate Bridge as our cruise ship passed out of San Francisco. The wind was blowing very strongly. Fortunately these wind surfers were well out of the main shipping channel.

The tide was making, as we sailed out, adding to the danger for the surfers

As we ply the Amazon River, insects get trapped in the air flows around the ship. In the morning, there are quite a few beetles wandering the deck.

Even the safety bouys are gounded by the low water of the Amazon. Normally, this one would be floating.

The low water has made the docks useless. We are tendering from the ship to shore. Note the tour busses parked on a floating barge.
