MER No.7 [Blue, Ivory & Teak livery] with trailer in tow arriving at the Derby Castle terminus.
For this journey No.7 has been paired with Trailer 56, the disabled saloon.

The horse tram [bulkhead car] in the background is the 1907 built No.44, in the Red White and Blue "Royal Tram" livery.

The opening in the bulkhead between compartments 1 and 2 is now filled with matching planks, the next stage will be painting, starting with some primer.

The frames of the "new" door are structurally complete. The droplight and ventilator are original.
Next job will be panelling and painting, before hanging on the carriage.

Compartment 4. Seat and bulkhead completed, with grey primer and bauxite undercoat applied. The rebuilt bench seat will receive the latter shortly.
Roof / ceiling panel has been dry fitted and been coated in white primer and cream undercoat, after fitting it will have the final coat of cream gloss applied.

Cmpt 2 : The interior red-brown undercoat has been sanded back, prior to the application of an initial coat of gloss. After that is dry, the seats will be built. Note that there is still a little work due to the roof, before the ceiling panels are re-installed.

Doors to Compartment 2 already work, but may need minor repairs.
Looking from just inside compartment 3 towards the existing bulkhead (between cmpts 1 & 2), this will need the gap filling and new, full-width bench seats.

Taken from the bulkhead opening between compartments 1 & 2, looking towards compartment 5 at the further end. The central part of the full width seat is visible through the opening in the bulkhead between compartments 4 & 5.

Internal work to be done [summary] - infilling the two bulkhead openings, fitting two new bulkheads [2 & 3 and 3 & 4] replacing all the seat units with full-width bench seats, and making all the doors work ; which includes one totally new door, in compartment 1. And a repaint ...
