The quartzite butte is 3,612 feet (1,101 m) high and stands above the surrounding country like beacon.  The views from the Palouse are over the surrounding hills of the Palouse an area of rolling hills that is largely given to wheat farming.  The butte is about an hour south of Spokane.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

I believe that the peak silhouetted by the rising sun is Big Bosom Butte, though I take no responsibility for the name.  The main attraction was Mount Baker which we photographed endlessly in the light of the rising sun.&lt;br /&gt;

I have so many pictures to post that I am going to post several a day for a while.  Please do not feel obligated to comment on them all.  I know how much work it is to keep up with commenting on the photos of contacts and friends and neither expect nor wish to put my contacts to extra trouble. &lt;br /&gt;
