Today was a theme day in the "Single in August" challenge. The theme was "old" so I thought I'd dig out one of my old lenses. This is the K series 500 f/4.5 with a Pentax KX attached to the back of it.

The Werra IV was made in Dresden and is a compact rangefinder. It has an uncoupled lightmeter, and interchangeable lenses. It was introduced in 1957 or 1958 (sources vary) and made until c.1962. The most unusual thing is that to advance the film and cock the shutter, one twists the ring around the base of the lens mount.

My Pentax LX with a LX Motordrive and a recently rebuilt NiCAD LX battery pack. I could shoot a roll of film in just over seven seconds if I was feeling a bit deranged.

This was the last really top-end SLR made by Pentax with a myriad of features including the ability to imprint exposure data on the rebate of the film. It was manufactured between 2001 and 2006. Pentax had planned to release a digital version, the MZ-D, but problems with the third-party supplied sensor killed the project.

Second time lucky? I wanted a Ricoh XR-X for a specific project I have in mind. I bought one on ebay but it was a bit dodgy. I saw a second example that looked pretty good. Turns out it was better than good, it is immaculate. Very pleased!
