This lean-to roof has hammerbeams with no structural function; this must be the most decorated aisle roof and some of the best carving anywhere, a real tour de force.

these angels rising out of token clouds seem to have held instruments of the passion, being near the rood and amongst the housel vine scrolls shown on the joists

The early date of 1421 shows in this single hammerbeam roof with its original paintwork, confirmed technically by the lack of any struts rising from the hammerbeams.
