Decided that the underframe deserved some TLC before painting.
It has been de-rusted and coated with an anti-corrosion primer, Several small repairs have been made, mainly to gussets and conduit guide plates. The current work is surfacing filling the minor dips the shot-blasting revealed. None of the dips are deep and there is still plenty of "meat" in the frame, so this is basically just cosmetic ...

Quite a few items have already been detached; each item is to be cleaned, repaired as needed and then repainted.

A bit past it's best, methinks !

Underframe has been away for deep-cleaning, finished off with a coat of anti-corrosion primer.
Some repairs will be needed next, after some holes & pitting were revealed by the process.

One chassis - requires *some* work - mainly de-rusting / painting and then re-cabling, among otyher jobs. The body is still being worked on and the engine has been rebuilt.

The substantial side & cross timbers that make up the chassis for the slab waggon, showing the various joints and cut-outs. Next job will be drilling holes for the bolts and tie-rods which hold everything together. Glue is not used.
