Vintage 1957 calendar for Jack's Hardware Store in Haskell, New Jersey.

This delightful calendar features a photograph of three children voraciously devouring that week's offerings, despite the proprietor's ironic petition of "please do not handle." The picture itself likely dates to early 1948, since it contains multiple issues with May or June 1948 publishing dates.

Some of the books pictured include: Capt. Marvel No. 86, Jumbo 112, Action 120, All-Star 41 Henry 2, Feature 123, Frisky Fables 30, Dare-Devil 49, Joe Palooka 21, Patsy Walker 17, Popeye 2, Li'l Abner 64, Prize Western 69, and Walt Disney's Comics and Stories 91.

I didn't want to start posting Christmas goodies too soon, and now I fear just the opposite! I didn't know that I had all that much to post, but I seem to have dug up enough fun cards, magazines, postcards, comics, etc. that I'm behind the ~~eight~~ snow ball!
