The Great Horned Owl is the second heaviest owl in North America. It grows between 17 to 25 inches long and weighs between 1.3 to 5.7 pounds. Females are slightly larger than males.

This owl was photographed in a tent during a display of owls that due to injury or captive breeding, could not live in the wild. The photograph was shot at a relatively high ISO while the owl was being carried down an aisle. Considering the distance, the lighting and the motion, I was ecstatic that the photo came out as well as it did.

The Barred Owl is the only common owl in the United States with brown eyes. An adult is between 16 and 25 inches long and weighs between 1 to 2.3 pounds.

This owl was photographed in a tent during a display of owls that due to injury or captive breeding, could not live in the wild. The Eurasian Eagle-Owl is one of the world's largest owls. These owls range from 22 to 30 inches long and weigh between 3.3 to 9.3 pounds and females are larger than males.

Cape Barren Goose - Kangaroo Island, Australia. The Cape Barren goose is one of the rarest geese in the world. It has a large grey body with spotted feathers, a greenish-yellow cere (skin above the bill), pink or red legs and black webbed feet. It lives on the Australian southern coast. It is monogamous and pairs bond for life.
