During our visit to Gibraltar, we had a nice tour. At one point, we were looking straight down the rock towards the harbor.

Our cruise ship was tied up to a nice new dock system. This is a view that includes the transportation carts, as well as a rest area for passengers. On the right are the lifeboats for the ship.

Taken during our visit to Namibia on our 2018 World Cruise.

This lonely lighthouse on Pelican Point might be interesting by itself, but there is a working restaurant also located at the very end of the sand spit near the port of Walvis Bay.

(possible update in 2026, the restaurant is no longer listed on Google Maps)

Nothing around. The only view is the harbor, seals, and ships.

Seems to be a working ATON.

Taken on our excursion on the Canal du Midi. We are entering the multiple lock "staircase" near Beziers. The overhead is a brick bridge. There is some construction going on in the left side of the image, hence the fence.

The fence is keeping tourists (us) from wandering inside the walls and compounds of a historic mission in San Antonio, Texas.

We were taking a private tour of San Antonio that included the historic missions.

Wet Chain (HFF)

The original was an Agfachrome slide taken in the late 1960's. Slide professionally scanned.

This chain fence surrounded a portion of the stage at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival theater (where I was working for the summer). It is wet from a sudden downpour of rain, just before the start of a Shakespeare play.

I've tried several manipulations with the picture. I still like the bokeh that was created by the grain of the original photo. (See PiP for a variation in processing of the same slide image)

Taken during a fall walk a couple of years ago. "The Arc" is a piece of public art (an arch that doesn't quite meet at the top).

The Big Sioux River is in the background; we're just above the falls (see PiP), in downtown Sioux Falls. The trees were turning some very nice colors.

The carnival area at the local fairgrounds. I was walking around in the morning. This place would be jumping at night, with noise, lights, and spinning devices.
