Muddy Footpath and Fields

One of the footpaths I use fairly regularly...........it only takes a bit of rain to make it difficult to use. Horses are also kept in the fields (check out the PiP).

It doesn't look like it, but this is a quite affluent area, with some lovely houses.

Taken from a very muddy footpath in Havant, Hampshire. The landscape here is mainly fields. I just thought the large tree looked good against the sky.

It's been pouring down with rain on and off all day, but I ventured out with my camera in between the showers and managed to get a couple of photos. This False Virginia Creeper is working its way along a fence in an alleyway near where I live.

This was taken yesterday afternoon during a short walk at Milton Locks, Portsmouth. There are several large houses on this pathway, overlooking the sea. Nearly all of them have large, beautifully kept gardens. You can see part of Portsdown Hill in the background.

Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust, Arundel, West Sussex. Taken from the little electric-powered boat that takes visitors on rides around the wetlands. Originally taken in August 2012, - another one of my archive images that's had little attention on IP.

Sails of the South - HFF

The Sails Of The South are located in the central reservation of the M275, the motorway leading to the city of Portsmouth, Hampshire. The sails are 43 metres high and mark the junction with the M27 motorway. The design is meant to symbolise the three directions of the motorway intersection as well as recognising Portsmouth's maritime activities. The sails are normally illuminated at night.

Best viewed large, on black.

The Royal Garrison Church was originally part of a hospital founded in 1212 by the Bishop of Winchester. The nave housed the sick while the chancel served as the hospital's chapel. The building later served as part of the Governor of Portsmouth's residence before being restored in the 1860s. Although the nave was badly damaged in a 1941 fire bombing raid on Portsmouth, the chancel remains roofed and furnished.

I liked the way the light was catching this fence, but the background was rubbish. In post processing I added a "bokeh" texture and a border. It looks better viewed large, on black.

This is a small section of a fence at the front of a community garden in Southsea, Hampshire, where random shaped pieces of scrap metal have been welded to the top section of a mesh fence.

I decided to convert to black and white and present it as silhouettes. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out. I think it looks much better viewed large.
