I spotted this grass in a neighbour's garden and cut off a piece to photograph indoors.

Better viewed large, I think.

This Daffodil flower had been bent over by yesterday's rain and it was resting it's head in the dew-covered grass. Taken in or local churchyard.

Taken indoors in natural window light. The background is a piece of yellow card. The vase is a new charity shop find.......good value at £1 :-)

I was going for a fairly minimal look, which I think turned out quite well.

Taken in my garden between heavy rain showers last Saturday. Not much flowering yet , just one tulip (yesterdays shot) and quite a few Grape Hyacinth.

My garden gets very boggy when it rains and there will be lots of work to do when it dries out, but past experience tells me that it will take a couple weeks without rain before that happens! It's a jungle out there :-)))

Taken at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire. These old railway sleepers act as sea defences along part of the foreshore. They can't stop the grasses from getting through though!

I got up too late to catch the frost, so only the water droplets were still on this blade of grass.

Found growing along the sea wall at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire. This was taken at a very high tide and as you can see, the sea has breached the wall and flooded the footpath.

Taken in my garden. I've no idea what type of grass this is, but as it was underneath where we hang the bird feeders, I suspect it's come from one of them. I used flash to make the dark background (assisted by a bit of post-processing).

Edit: Thank you to neira-Dan for the ID. The grass is from the Setaria family (commonly known as Bristle grass).

I found these growing in the my road alongside the kerb, so I picked some to make a photo. For the white background I used a cheap A4 sized light panel from Ebay covered with a sheet of white A4 paper to diffuse it. I used a lump of blu-tac to hold the grasses in position.

The black and white version is in the next image, please have a look if you have time.

Both versions look best viewed large on black.

Taken on Hayling Island this afternoon. Very windy, but hardly any rain :-) I only had a 12-100mm lens with me, so this is about a 50% crop. Best viewed large, on black.
