Contents consumed by the visiting red squirrel.
Shells collected regularly to determine consumption - as s/he maybe removing hazel nuts to eat elsewhere, this may be only an approximation
Also found some shredded pine cones.

We have been collecting up the hazel shells and a few other signs, from a few days before we began putting out the trail-cam to confirm that it was Red Squirrels, until today [30th June 2026].

Cheeky had at least eight hazel nuts for lunch today [13th March 2022] over a period of almost half an hour. Plus some seeds out of the nearest bird feeder.

These "food wrappers" were picked up about 15 minutes after Cheeky had left the feeders and scampered up the nearby Scot's Pine tree.
