East and west running alley between S Scott St and S Bennett St with E Central Ave to the north, Bluffton, Indiana.

The series street lighting might be long gone, but there are still a lot of glass insulators and crossarm-hung transformers in use around the town of Bluffton, IN.

A shot of two poles for a total of 23 glass insulators. The pole on the left has eight CD 219 Hemingray-660's, two CD 231.2 Kimble-820's, and five CD 183 Hemingray-71's. Right pole has six CD 231.2 Kimble-820's and two CD 183 Hemingray-71's. Some of the glass insulators can't be seen.

Pole taken in a small town of Botkins, Ohio. Glass insulators are one CD 164 Hemingray No 20, two CD 162 Hemingray-19's, and two CD 1052 spool insulators. The one insulator failed on the steel pin.

Alley between Garfield Ave and S Madison St south of W Race St, Troy, Ohio.

Glass insulators are three CD 231.2 Kimble-820's and six CD 183 Hemingray-71's. I always wondered what the bottom crossarm was used for on many of the poles with mostly the CD 183's (fire or police alarm signal circuits ?). Looks like none of the circuits are in use anymore.

Alley between California Ave and Alabama Ave north of Vermont Ave, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

A shot of an old City Light and Power, Indiana Michigan Power utility pole in the neighborhood of Northside in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Sections of Northside and small sections of Spy Run were the last two neighborhoods in Fort Wayne to have some of the old CL&P/I&M poles still up in service. Sadly, upgrades to these poles happen about two years ago and is all now just a single phase circuit line.

This shot shows an old GE transformer along with a CD 168 Hemingray D-510 glass insulator, one old box cutout, and a glass lightning arrester.

Before March 1, 1975 the top two crossarms would of been I&M while the bottom two CL&P. After that date, I&M leased from CL&P for 35 years until on February 28, 2010, I&M would eventually become the exclusive electric service provider for Fort Wayne.

A regulator pole used on the old series street lighting circuits in Bluffton, Indiana. Bluffton did away with all their series street lighting circuits a few years ago. All glass insulators are CD 230 Hemingray 512 insulators.
