Rags flehms at the strange scents (2011)

nobody@ipernity.com (Finn Frode) — Thu, 20 Oct 2016 17:58:28 +0000

5 years ago, on September 21st 2011, Rags moved in with us.
In Milly's bed he got his first smell of the two ladies he would soon be sharing the house with - and naturally it triggered a flehmen response... ;)

Rags' breeder Teresa Guldager had recommended Rags as the right cat for integrating into our little flock - and she was absolutely right. :)

He adjusted perfectly and soon got accepted by the two old ladies, Milly and Snow White. He has become a natural center in our little flock, done very well at the cat shows - and become my very best cat friend. :)

Meeting each other... 2

It is still far too early for them to be in the same room, but they have tried sniffing through a door opening, while the door was secured on a hook.
The Somalis growled - this is their territory. And Bastian backed off - he knows he is new here.

Rags' expression and body language says it all - he is not at all pleased with Bastian's precense in his domain. It is still much too early for having them in the same room...

Caithlin growling at Bastian while trying to hit him with her paw. She has been the most agressive of the Somalis - her size tells her she has more to prove to get respected. :)

The "bringing together" of Bastian and the Somalis have been completed according to plan and in relative harmony - i.e with a minimum of hissing and growling and no serious fighting. They don't love each other, but they can be in the same room - well done for adult cats aged 5 to 8½...
