I enjoy most genres of photography, just taking whatever inspires me, really appreciating the detail through the lens, a joy which compensates for poor eyesight, and love the storytelling.

One of our most amazing experiences to see the vast wilderness of Doubtful Sound, the second largest fiord in Fiordland National Park, remote and magnificent.

People (including us) and place, on a cruise in New Zealand’s Fiordland.

Cruising through the magnificent scenery.
4. Why should someone care? (Emotion)
In awe of nature, and the wonderful remote places on our planet.

On board Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas cruise to New Zealand 8-17 December 2019, including Wellington, Picton, Dunedin, Dusky, Doubtful and Milford Sounds.

At 421 metres deep, Doubtful is the deepest of the fiords and is long and winding with three distinct 'arms' and several outstanding waterfalls in the area from Deep Cove to the open ocean, a distance of around 40.4 kilometres.
Fiordland National Park is one of New Zealand's treasured natural icons and is internationally recognised as part of the wider UNESCO World Heritage site, Te Wāhipounamu (Place of the Greenstone). It is home to glaciers, alpine ranges, and unique flora and fauna since New Zealand was part of the supercontinent Gondwanaland.
Fiordland National Park covers 1.2 million hectares of mountain, lake, fiord and rainforest environments and is administered by the Department of Conservation.

Lay day in Elba (30 March 1986). Walked up to Napoleon's house, Villa dei Mulini, and then to Forte Falcone. Magnificent views.

The Palazzina dei Mulini, (the yellow building on the left) also known as the Villa dei Mulini, was one of Napoleon Bonaparte's two residences in Portoferraio during his exile on the island of Elba (May 4, 1814 - February 26, 1815). It was primarily intended for the exiled emperor's public and ceremonial life, while his private life was spent in the nearby Villa di San Martino.

77 Pulteney Street, Taree, NSW Australia

John Joseph Stephens of Taree bought land in Pulteney Street in 1908,
then commissioned Henry Alcorn of “Tunbridge Wells” High Street, to build a substantial brick house… The building is presently occupied by Taree Craft Centre Inc. and has been extended to provide space for a teaching
area and café…
The building is a locally listed heritage item.

We visited recently, for brunch at the cafe. Very enjoyable. Staffed by friendly volunteers.
Interesting craftwork, especially the woodwork, all created by local artists.

Vacant land having frontages to Pulteney, High and Wynter Streets (Lots 1 & 2 Section B) was sold to John Joseph Stephens of Taree in 1908.
Later that year, Stephens commissioned Henry Alcorn of “Tunbridge Wells” High Street, to build a substantial brick house on Lot 2 which was leased, on completion, to Dr Stuart Kay, a Sydney University graduate...
Over the years, the property changed hands several times. In 1944 John Francis Bradley purchased the dwelling. He and his family operated a bakery and shop nearby at 85 High Street.

The building is presently occupied by Taree Craft Centre Inc. and has been extended to provide space for a teaching area and café. Following damage caused by a vehicle in July 2017, substantial repairs were undertaken, together with the glazing of the front verandah. The building is a locally listed heritage item.

Miksang is a form of contemplative photography based on visual perception of the everyday world as it truly is, rather than as we imagine it to be.

Instead of seeing and labelling ‘objects’ we see colour, texture and pattern, light and shadow, form and space.

Miksang is a Tibetan word that translates as “good eye.”
