Per arrivare là si parte da questo incrocio e si scende in basso a sinistra. Dopo qualche centinaio di metri si apre il sentiero della foto principale.

Loco 106 has been out past the end of the loop and is now returning on the other track as it runs around the carriages for the return leg of the test run. In the PiP Andrew is preparing the screw coupler at the front of 106, Oliver is walking from the loco to the carriages to connect the loco and the air brake hoses. Neil , the driver, is waiting to slowly move 106 to the carriages when the other two are ready. 28/08/23

Loco 106 and the 3 carriages are up to track speed after doing some brake effectiveness testing. We are going to the first crossing location, Wyreema station, where 106 will run around and take the train back to DownsSteam site. Mouse over to see more photos. 280823.

Abbey Wood station Up platform looking west from the footbridge. The 1849 South Eastern & Chatham Railway buildings look a bit grubby. Commuters to London city centre observe the two trackmen at work.

Today the station has changed completey out of recognition as Abbey Wood is the eastern terminus of the new Crossrail / Elizabeth line.

Le ghiande contengono, in percentuali variabili a seconda della specie, una grande quantità di proteine, carboidrati, grassi, minerali e vitamine.
Un tempo venivano utilizzate quale alimentazione per i maiali dato l'elevato potere nutritivo del frutto. Oggi, la ghianda come alimento principale per i suini è ancora utilizzata in Spagna e in Italia (Calabria e Sicilia) per la produzione di qualità pregiate di prosciutto come quello di Suino Nero.
Queste probabilmente saranno divorate dai cinghiali !

Gunnedah Rd level crossing site, showing the Tamworth side. The photo shows the rebuilt line on the left joining the line into the former Trackfast freight sidings. The third line, adjacent to the train order location sign, is the main North line. April 2022.
