I like the light and shadow of the big tree.&lt;br /&gt;

I've tried several manipulations with the picture. The original has a strong green/blue  cast.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
For the (Saturday)Sunday Challenge, the issue was to express an emotion. I find two when viewing this photo:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1) fear --  yep, it's dark, maybe a "scary old house"&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
2) nostalgia  -- perhaps the viewer will remember their original home from many years ago. Perhaps this view will trigger other memory-related emotions.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I left it quite dark, enjoy on a black background.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

We were taking a tour from our cruise in 2013, and stopped in the small town of Teror. These bougainvillea in the sun were so pretty, I had to take a photo.&lt;br /&gt;

The tour included the small town of Teror. This is the Basilika "Nuestra Señora del Pino". Once inside  this church, I was quite taken with the strong ray of light coming in from the high window, and striking the columns.&lt;br /&gt;

Taken on our lanai (front porch) which overlooked the Pacific Ocean.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This was actually a lens test. I used the Nikon D50 we had at the time, but attached a non-automatic Nikkor 50mm F1.4 "classic" lens. I'm still using that manual, fixed lens for some activities, even though I don't have a Nikon camera any more.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The sharpness is remarkable.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Yes, that was our view from our living room and lanai, enjoyed it for 9 years.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
(The string you see over the fence was fishing line placed to keep the birds off of the barrier.)&lt;/div&gt;</description>
