Taken at the fair. While most people think of the animal barns, or the twirling fun rides, there is a "back yard" to the fairgrounds.

The original was an Agfachrome slide taken in the late 1960's with my Leica IIa. Slide professionally scanned.

I've tried several manipulations with the picture. The original has a strong green/blue cast.

For the (Saturday)Sunday Challenge, the issue was to express an emotion. I find two when viewing this photo:

1) fear -- yep, it's dark, maybe a "scary old house"

2) nostalgia -- perhaps the viewer will remember their original home from many years ago. Perhaps this view will trigger other memory-related emotions.

I left it quite dark, enjoy on a black background.

Taken when we visited Zuerich in early 1992. We had a Eurrail Pass so could take the boating trip around Lake Zuerich. The sun was just poking through the clouds on this cold February day. I guess we have a goose and some mudhens near the boat dock.

We were fortunate to be in Texas when the Union Pacific 4014 locomotive (Big Boy) was passing through. We set up our camera in the lovely small town of D'Hanis and caught this scene as the train approached.

Taken at the train station in downtown Cheyenne, Wyoming. The Union Pacific operates near here, including the "steam shop" for the historic steam locomotives.

Nice lighting fixture, very "Southwest" style, part of the 1929 re-design of the interior to Art Decl.

During our visit to Grand Canary on the 2013 cruise, we took a tour of the area. The tour included the small town of Teror. This is the Basilika "Nuestra Señora del Pino". Once inside this church, I was quite taken with the strong ray of light coming in from the high window, and striking the columns.

Maui and Iced Tea

Ice tea, lit up by the beautiful sun of Maui. Taken on our lanai (front porch) which overlooked the Pacific Ocean.

This was actually a lens test. I used the Nikon D50 we had at the time, but attached a non-automatic Nikkor 50mm F1.4 "classic" lens. I'm still using that manual, fixed lens for some activities, even though I don't have a Nikon camera any more.

The sharpness is remarkable.

Yes, that was our view from our living room and lanai, enjoyed it for 9 years.

(The string you see over the fence was fishing line placed to keep the birds off of the barrier.)
