Bridge Over Locks on Canal du Midi, near Beziers (some construction)

Taken on our excursion on the Canal du Midi. We are entering the multiple lock "staircase" near Beziers. The overhead is a brick bridge. There is some construction going on in the left side of the image, hence the fence.

Our boat, entering a lock on the Thames, during our 1993 cruise of the river.

You can see the lock wall(s), soon to be inundated as the lock is filled.

There are also brick retaining walls that make up the "front yard" of the lock-keepers' house.

Taken while on the Canal du Midi, entering Beziers, France. Each of these lock door sets has a walkway with railing, the bridge over the canal has a fence, and the parkway surrounding the canal has fences.

Quite a pattern!

For the Sunday Challenge the building itself is a "street sign". Once you see the sign, you know where you are.
