de brave burgers van Haerlem&lt;br /&gt;
die met hem&lt;br /&gt;
de vreemde mannen langs dit pad&lt;br /&gt;
verdreven den XXVI april MCCCIIII&lt;br /&gt;
en ter eere van hen&lt;br /&gt;
die tot ontzet van Haerlem&lt;br /&gt;
bij dit Mannepad hun leven waagden&lt;br /&gt;
den VIII julij MDLXXIII"&lt;br /&gt;

"To honour Witte van Haemstede, count Floris, son of Holland, and the good people of Haarlem, who with him drove away the strange men along this path on April 26, 1304. And to honour those who put their lives at risk at this Manpad to liberate Haarlem on July 8, 1573."&lt;/div&gt;</description>
