castle built 1372-86, never completed but consisting primarily of three towers along the river front, the central of which had a water gate below the great hall above. currently in a poor state, crowded by the railway and in need of some t.l.c., as is much of the town. evidently welsh gentrification hasn't reached this far; messy banners do little to improve the look of the place.

grimy but interesting castle built 1372-86, consisting mostly of three towers along the river front, the central of which had a water gate below the great hall above. it must have been an elegant sight at one time, but is currently in a poor state, crowded by the railway and in need of much t.l.c.
