This morning 8:30 a.m. on top of the Baummosskogel (1,506 m summit height, 836 m difference in altitude from the valley). Down in the valley my hometown St. Johann in Tyrol (Austria). In the background the Kaiser Mountains. ((Post-processed capture with a Samsung cell phone.)

Heute Morgen 8:30 Uhr auf den Baummosskogel (1.506 m Gipfelhöhe, 836 m Höhendifferenz vom Tal). Unten im Tal mein Heimatort St. Johann in Tirol (Österreich). Im Hintergrund ist das Kaisergebirge. (Nachbearbeitete Aufnahme mit einem Samsung-Handy.)

An alpine ibex (Capra ibex, Capricorn) on the Sella plateau (approx. 2,900m, Dolomites, Italy). Because the habitat of these animals is very high, they are rarely seen.

Not far above the ladder is the ancient suspension bridge, which leads from the Exner tower (background) to the Brunecker tower (PoV) at an altitude of approx. 2,400 metres and makes it possible to get out of the via ferrata in the first place.

Nicht weit oberhalb der Leiter die uralte Hängebrücke, die in ca. 2.400 Metern Höhe vom Exner Turm (Hintergund) zum Brunecker Turm (PoV) herüberführt und den Ausstieg aus dem Klettersteig überhaupt erst möglich macht.

The steep ladder in the upper part of the Via Ferrata Brigata Tridentina (Pisciadù via ferrata. Dolomites, Italy). At the top you have to cross the overhanging edge somehow. But it looks worse than it is.

Die steile Leiter im oberen Teil der Via Ferrata Brigata Tridentina (Pisciadù-Klettersteig. Dolomiten, Italien). Oben muss man dann irgendwie über die überhängende Kante. Es sieht aber schlimmer aus, als es ist.

In the upper part of Via Ferrata Brigata Tridentina (Via Ferrata Pisciadù, Dolomites, Italy). There is an emergency exit from which you can hike to the hut without having to climb the difficult parts.

Im oberen Teil der Via Ferrata Brigata Tridentina (Pisciadù-Klettersteig. Dolomiten, Italien). Zuvor gibt es einen Notausstieg, von dem man zur Hütte wandern kann, ohne die schwierigen Stellen klettern zu müssen.

Even if there is a definite valley to be seen down there: At 1,645 metres above sea level Colfosco is the highest village in the holiday region Alta Badia (Dolomites, South Tyrol, Italy) and therefore an ideal place to spend the night to acclimatise for high-altitude hikes. (Taken from the higher, more difficult part of the via ferrata.)

Auch wenn dort unten eindeutig ein Tal zu sehen ist: Auf 1.645 Metern Seehöhe ist Kolfuschg das höchstgelegene Dorf in der Ferienregion Alta Badia (Dolomiten, Südtirol, Italien) und deshalb ein idealer Übernachtungsplatz, um sich für Höhenwanderungen zu akklimatisieren. (Aufgenommen aus dem höheren, schwierigeren Teil des Klettersteigs.)

View down to the access (see PiP) after about 150 climbing meters. In this lower (and easier) part of the via ferrata, it usually progresses slowly due to overcrowding.

Blick hinunter zum Einstieg (siehPiP) nach rund 150 Klettermetern. Hier im unteren (und leichten) Teil des Klettersteigs geht es wegen Überfüllung meist nur langsam voran.
