You need about 70,000 votes for a seat in the 150-seats Second Chamber. The Netherlands has a system of proportional representation, there are twenty electoral districts, mainly to organise the elections, but you can have different candidates for every district, but the main parties participate in every district and have the same list in every district. In reality this is a mistranslation and a sign of Americanisation. The correct message would be that we can vote for the Second Chamber (of the States General). The use of English is also a bit strange, as only people with Dutch nationality can vote, which means that they also speak Dutch. It would make sense In municipal elections, because residents from different countries and backgrounds can also vote.

The modern building on the right is one of the entrances of the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament. The square in front – called Plein or Square – is therefore a popular spot for protests. The building on the left of the modern building is the former Ministry of the Colonies, now office space for parliamentarians. The building to the left is the former Rotterdam House, the representation of the city of Rotterdam at the States General. Now it is used by the Ministry of Defence. The statue is of William of Orange, or William the Silent.
